Alessandro grew up in Stockholm and left to find out how the rest of the world works. For ten years he lived in France, England, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, and China, before eventually returning home.

He writes about the care that holds people up and hems people in, languages and cities that never quite become home, grief and the rituals left behind, lives almost lived, and the small corners where we can briefly be ourselves.

His first novel, set in Beijing, is in revision.
